Future Fit Asia Announces Winners of Inaugural Grantham Foundation Detox Awards

Singapore, 13 May 2026 — Future Fit Asia (formerly Future Food Asia) concluded its landmark 10th edition conference at Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore, with the announcement of the winners of the inaugural Grantham Foundation Detox Awards.

Pandawa Agri Indonesia and Prof. Eric Chan together with Dr. Dachuan Zhang from the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein were named the 2026 award winners, sharing USD 90,000 in non-dilutive funding to advance technologies focused on reducing toxicity across food, agriculture, and environmental systems.

The Detox Awards were launched through a partnership between the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, Deep Science Ventures, and ID Capital. The initiative supports breakthrough innovations tackling toxicity in agriculture, food systems, and packaging materials.

Selected from more than 150 submissions, the finalists presented their solutions before investors, corporate leaders, researchers, and ecosystem partners gathered at the flagship conference.

The event featured a keynote address by Jeremy Grantham, who highlighted the growing risks posed by chemical toxicity to both human health and economic resilience.

“The proliferation of chemical toxicity is a profound threat to both human health and the ecosystems we depend on. Beyond the environmental toll, it represents a systemic risk to our economic future—particularly through its alarming impact on human fertility. Fortunately this category is ripe for innovation, and we are excited to support these leaders with additional funding. We hope this prize helps to raise awareness and inspire others to invest in the urgent detoxification of our global food and materials systems.”

— Jeremy Grantham, Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment

“Addressing toxicity will require a transformation on the scale of the climate transition, spanning agrifood, industrial materials, consumer products, and beyond. What makes this challenge especially compelling is that it also represents a major frontier for innovation and value creation. We are proud to spotlight entrepreneurs and researchers building the next generation of safer, scalable solutions.”

— Isabelle Decitre, Founder, ID Capital

“So much of the world’s food, plastic, and chemical production happens in Asia, so it is probably the most important region for innovation in detoxification of the economy and the food system.”

— Harry Macpherson, Senior Associate, Climate, Deep Science Ventures

About the Grantham Foundation Detox Awards Winners

About Pandawa Agri Indonesia

Pandawa Agri Indonesia develops science-based agricultural solutions that reduce pesticide use by up to 50% while maintaining crop productivity.

Through proprietary reductant technologies and ecosystem-based deployment, the company enables plantations and smallholders to transition toward lower-toxicity and lower-emission farming systems. Their solutions are deployed across Southeast Asia with leading agricultural and food supply chain partners.

About Prof. Eric Chan and Dr. Dachuan Zhang

Prof. Eric Chan and Dr. Dachuan Zhang (Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein, National University of Singapore) developed an AI-driven discovery platform for the removal of food-borne toxins. Their next-generation framework integrates PBTK/QST modeling with AI-guided enzyme discovery to assess toxin risks and enable targeted detoxification across feed, food, and human health.

The platform pursues both in vivo therapeutic applications to reduce toxin burden or toxin-induced injury after intake, and ex vivo applications including feed additives for animals and fish, crop protection, and non-food consumer products.
